For over 150 years, the Community Church of Hokah has been making disciples in the Houston County area. Formerly known as Zion Evangelical Church, early German settlers formed the church in Hokah in 1873. They met at the school in town for a year, and in 1874 built a church building where the structure still stands today. Over the years, additions have been added and property expanded, but the mission of glorifying God and making disciples has stayed the same.
Community Church of Hokah is a non-denominational Bible church, which means we are not affiliated with any denomination, but firmly committed to rightly handling the Word of God. Though independant, we have partnered with Village Missions for the past 30 years. Village Missions is a nonprofit organization that equips and sends out missionary pastors to rural/small town churches across the United States and Canada. Current Pastor James Knoop serves with Village Missions, alongside his wife, Meredith. You can read more about their mission, history, and beliefs at villagemissions.org.
